hot-dog-challenge-invite-guests

To celebrate bubbledogs’ 4th birthday, we have invited some of London’s finest chefs to compete for the title of top dog at our augural Hot Dog Challenge. On Monday 10th October a panel of discerning judges will put their creations to the test in a blind tasting, where one dog will have its day. The winning hot dog will then make a month-long guest appearance on the menu, with £1 of each dog sold donated to James’ cycle around Ethiopia in support of Action Against Hunger.

Battling it out on the night in the bubbledogs kitchen will be James Lowe of Michelin-starred Lyle’s, José PizarroTomos Parry from Kitty Fishers, Lee Tiernan of Black Axe Mangal and Shake Shack’s Mark Roasati. Completing the line-up will be Robin Gill from The Dairy, Magnus Reid of Legs and John Walton of Number 6 in Padstow. Sitting on the judging panel will be rock ‘n’ roll restaurateur Scott Collins, chef and food writer Olia Hercules, Bloomberg’s longstanding restaurant critic Richard Vines and renowned gastrophile Skinny Bib, alongside Ed Smith and Jemma Wilson from Crumbs and Doilies. Challengers will be working against the clock, with 20 minutes to prepare and serve their hot dog creations using bubbledogs hand rolled buns and house recipe sausages. Tasked with producing the most inspired hot dog toppings, the panel of experts will mark entries out of ten for; taste, creativity, quality and appearance. One dog will then reign supreme whilst the others are left in the dog house, and keeping everything in check will be your compere for the evening, Missy Flynn.

To take the edge off the fierce competition, bubbledogs birthday celebrations will be in full swing throughout the evening in true bubbledogs style. You are invited to sip on Champagne and will have the chance to taste each entry for the Hot Dog Challenge in canapé form, while the bubbledogs signature soundtrack of old school Hip-Hop pops in the background. You will also be doing your good deed of the day, with £5 of each ticket sold donated to James’ fundraising efforts for Action Against Hunger.
